Brand identity for the Irish organic seaweed company.
The brand identity and packaging for Ion was designed to communicate the pure, organic and completely natural quality of the seaweed that is hand harvested from the beautiful, clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean on the Irish coastline at Kerry. Seaweed has been shown to help against signs of ageing and cellulite. The restorative and detoxifying benefits of seaweed baths have been part of Irish coastal life for over a century.
I designed the logo and packaging for Ion whilst I was senior designer for Pritchards Creative Communications based in Cheltenham.
My Approach
Photography of the ingredients was central to the design. I photographed many samples of seaweed and botanical ingredients on a lightbox and turned them into a screen print style of illustration printed onto cardboard packaging for a premium and natural earthy feel.
